SMART MERCHANTS / ASSET FIXINGS POWER TOOL REPAIR POLICY

We have a fully equipped in-house workshop with experienced full time engineers, we can currently offer warranty repairs to  Makita, Sealey, Collomix, and Fein.

Non warranty work can be carried out on any major brand of electric or petrol powered tools.

Smart Merchants Ltd offer a full after sales and repair service on all machines we supply.

Most power tool repairs are carried out in our own workshop or by manufacturers approved workshops.

Please give as clear detail as possible about the fault to aid diagnosis.

WARRANTY REPAIRS

It is the Customers responsibility to notify us that the tool is still within the warranty period and to provide us with proof of purchase. Any warranty claims are solely at the discretion of the manufacturer. Should there be any query as to a warranty claim then we will contact you to discuss this further.

NON-WARRANTY REPAIRS

Tools may be returned to Smart Merchants Ltd for a repair estimate to be carried out. There will be a £10 inspection fee, payable up front. This will cover the original diagnosis and assessment of which parts are required and the quote for repair.

If the repair is carried out the £10 will be taken off of the repair charge or if the machine is beyond repair and a new one is purchased from us, the value will come off of the price of a new machine.

The fee will not be refunded if a repair is not carried out or a new tool is not purchased.

Unrepaired tools will be returned in a stripped-down state, due to health and safety guidelines, as the machines can no longer be tested as being fit for use.

REPAIR TIMES

While every effort is made to return the repaired machines as quickly as possible it does depend on the manufacturer’s parts availability therefore, we can give no guarantee to the length of time we will have the machine. If there is likely to be a protracted delay you will be informed of this.

DISPOSAL OF MACHINES

Machines will be disposed within 6 weeks if we have not received any instructions further to the estimate. If a repaired machine has not been collected within 3 months it will be disposed of.

We can also supply spare parts from all of the above listed manufacturers as well as Mirka, Hitachi, Dewalt, Black & Decker, Festool, Karcher, Vitrex, Stihl, Paslode, Trend, Refina, Mafell, Hilti and Numatic.
